Now, in this question I will deal with most common question asked by newbie Amazon affiliates: “How to create Amazon affiliate link”.

Extending earlier tutorial here I’m sharing how you can create affiliate link to individual product on Amazon. By now, I assume you have signed up as an Amazon Affiliate, in case if you haven’t you can sign up from here. You will be earning money from Amazon affiliate online when some one follow your Amazon referral link and buys something. If you are not really comfertable with creating affiliate links for individual products, I would suggest you to install Amazon widgets.

Or simply browse amazon site while logging into your amazon affiliate link. On every page at the top, you can find amazon Affiliate link generator which will let you grab amazon affiliate links instantly.

Step by step guide to create Amazon affiliate link:

step_ Once you application is approved, login to your Amazon affiliate panel and click on Amazon links and banners and click on add product links now:

Step2- On the next page you have two options. Search for product or add ASIN/ISBN Code of individual product. I prefer second one as it’s fast that ways. You can find more information about ASIN/ISBN codes here.

Now first step is to find the product which is relevant to your website/blog. You can search for any product by going directly to Amazon.com homepage. Once you have find the product, go to product detail part. In this case I’m getting ASIN code of this product.

Step3-Grab the Amazon Affiliate link for the product:

So now we have ASIN code of the product. Go to add a product link page. Add ASIN code of the product and click on go. Refer to following image:

step4-Now select the type of ad you would like to include. Once you have selected the type of ad, scroll below to get your HTML code.

step5-Add the codes into your blog at your desired place and if it’s a good and relevant product, you will end up making good money. Specially for gadget blogs, you can write a review of phone and add Amazon link to buy the phone.

How Google AdSense Pays in India

Google AdSense, one of the most popular monetization techniques used by bloggers, is always confusing for new users. Despite its easy-to-use dashboard and its help pages, there are always questions related to sign up, account approval, account ban, optimization and many others.

It is true that AdSense is a plug-and-play advertising network, but it is important that you learn all you can about it so that you can take full advantage of the opportunity it presents, making a lot of money as opposed to pennies.

This is a question from my blog readers:

“Can you tell me how AdSense Pays in India? Do they pay by cheque or through local bank transfer or EFT”?

AdSense Payment in India:

AdSense has different payment options for different countries. They support EFT transfer, Cheque facility and pay by Western Union Quick Cash. Especially in countries like India and Pakistan, getting an AdSense account is not as easy as it is in countries like the U.S., U.K. and Australia. This is mostly due to issues of spam and fake AdSense accounts in India.

In India, at the time of the writing of this post (June 2014), AdSense offers payment via Cheque and EFT, and they convert your earnings into INR and then make the payment. Usually, the AdSense USD to INR conversion rate is high, so you might not find this to be an issue. However, an AdSense cheque takes time to reach India (10-15 days), and it takes another few days for clearance.

The AdSense team is increasing payment options in many countries, and they have already added EFT payment for Indian publishers.

You can follow this guide to configuring electronic fund transfers for your Adsense account.

If you are a new AdSense user, here are few things which you should keep in mind:

While signing up, make sure all details are accurate (name, address, etc.)
Your name should be the same as the name on your bank account. The name on your AdSense cheque will be the same as your account name.
AdSense will send a PIN number to you at the address you used when signing up. This works as an address verification too, prior to making a payment.

With AdSense EFT payment, you can receive payment to another payee name as well.

AdSense will soon add telephone support for all AdSense publishers. This system is already in beta testing at the time of the writing of this post.

You can update your payment preference until the 20th of a given month.
You can also put a minimum payment threshold for your payment, and it should be greater than $100.

AdSense publishers in India will receive standard delivery checks mailed via the local courier service Blue Dart for no additional charge. Checks mailed by Blue Dart should arrive within 10-30 days of the check date. Blue Dart is not able to service all areas throughout India. If you live in a location, they don’t service, your check will be sent by Registered Post and should reach you within 2-3 weeks of the mailing date.

If the cheque is already issued, you can use Bluedart tracking to keep an eye on your cheque status. If you have not received your AdSense cheque within 60 days of the issue, you can use this form to request a re-issue of the cheque.

Now it’s time to move forward and learn some of the basic and advanced tips to increase AdSense revenue.

One factor to which you must give some serious consideration involves the placement of your ads. Be careful to make sure you don’t violate Adsense policies by placing your ads in such a way that forces users to click on them. Additionally, be sure to never ask someone to click your ads.

With those important considerations out of the way, Adsense’s new interface has some easy-to-use features which will surely help you to boost your revenue.

DIY tips for increasing AdSense revenue:

It is commonly said that traffic is directly proportional to money in blogging, but this is not really accurate in terms of Adsense advertising. The reason for this is that there are many factors which affect your Adsense income. These include ad placement, ad type, traffic source and most important, AdSense CPC.

If you are doing keyword research, keep an eye on the CPC column. The higher the CPC, the better it is for you as an Adsense publisher. If you target high CPC, then the number of words, keywords and clicks on your ads will usually be higher.

You can also use a tool like SEMRUSH to find profitable keywords.

One thing I don’t like about Adsense is that this type of Internet based advertising is performing the least effectively of those in my performance channel.

Size/Location:

This is one of the most common factors involved in getting low vs. high CTR.

You should try putting Adsense ads around the content and above the fold. (Above-the-fold ads perform far better than below-the-fold ads!)

You can blend the ads with your site design.

Something that bloggers often ignore are link-based ads. Link-based ads are different from banner ads, and they don’t decrease the CTR of main ads if optimized properly. I usually prefer to keep these types of ads on the header navbar.

When you are designing a website for Adsense income, you should keep the AdSense heatmap in your mind. This way you can easily create Adsense-optimized themes and designs for your new site.

Adsense ads perform best when your traffic is from search engines.Also, interest-based ads might not perform as well if you are getting more direct traffic. Many people complain about low CPC and low Adsense income despite leaving millions of impressions per month. This is mostly due to CPC and traffic sources. Start targeting traffic from countries like the U.S.A and the U.K, and you will end up getting high CPC.

Adsense is a contextual ad network that works based on the content of your page, and this includes your header and footer. So ads shown via Adsense must be highly relevant to the context of your article.

Image or Text Ads:

One of the myths of AdSense is that image ads work By blocking an ad type or ad category, you decrease the competition on your ad, and this also decreases the CPM of your ads. I prefer to use both ad types.

Ads between posts:

If you want to increase Adsense revenue, you can easily configure Adsense ads to match with your page background and colors, and add 468*60 image ads or text link ads in between posts. You can also add 7-10 pictures, keeping in mind that you want to offer a good user experience to your readers. Make sure to add enough space between ads & content, so that it doesn’t violate AdSense policies.

Placement targeting:

This is one idea which many bloggers are not implementing. When you create a channel, you have the option to add more details about your ad types, and then put your ad up for auction in the market by opting for placement targeting. This increases the competition, and the ad value on your site goes up. You must enable this manually for every custom channel. To enable placement targeting on your existing custom channel, log in to your Adsense account > My ads > Custom > Custom Channels. Next, click on one of the names and a screen will pop up. Simply add the details and put a checkmark at placement targeting.

Adsense Blacklist URL’s :

There are many advertiserss which pay very little per click. There used to be a site showing the Adsense ad “black list”, but if you have compiled a list of your own or you know of any site with very poor performance, you can block that advertiser’s URL. I have done it myself, and it improved my revenue by 10% in one week’s time. You can also block your competitor’s ads from displaying on your site join my famous Facebook group HELPROBO.

Adsense Category blocking:

In the new Adsense interface, the category blocking feature has become much easier to use. You can quickly see which categories of ads are performing poorly, and you can block those categories. I usually block the categories which have a good percentage of impression but a very low earnings percentage. This can also be configured via your “allow” and “block” ads page.

Adsense for Youtube:

If you are a video publisher or if you upload videos to YouTube, you can monetize your copyrighted video using the YouTube publisher program. I have been using it for a long time, and it performs really well. In the world of Internet marketing, CTR matters a lot to Advertisers as well as to Publishers. Advertisers role is to create ad graphics or sales line, which should get more CTR and publishers role is to place the ad in such a way, which increases the CTR.

I have been seeing people asking about this question in many forums so this post will be helpful for many of my readers who are not aware of what is Click through rate?

From a Blogger/Publisher point of view, CTR is one of those factors that plays an important role in generating money and retaining the advertisers. If you fail to give enough click, your advertisers will run away. So, let’s dive into the world of CTR and understand what it is.

What is CTR?

CTR stands for Click Though rate. In simple words, it means the number of times an advertisement is clicked divided by the number of times advertisement, ad unit or the page containing advertisement is viewed.

It is the percentage of No of clicks on advertisement and number of page views.

CTR = Number of clicks / Number of exposures.

CTR% = Number of clicks * 100 / # of exposures

So in simple words, if you have an ad running and it’s seen by 100 people but got only 5 clicks, your CTR is 5%. Point to be noted here is that higher the percentage of CTR, the better advertisement you will get.
