permalink when appearing in the search engine, it will contain some keywords, and your blog
posts will rank better in the search engine.
Here is an example from my live blog:
3-Set your time Zone:
Remember at the time of installing WordPress on Bluehost, we added site-name & tagline. You can change it anytime from this setting page.
This is where you will configure your homepage name and tag line. This is very important,
as by default this is what shows up in Google search. Email address will be your site admin Email address,
and this is where you will get all the Email notifications related to your site. Make sure
you set up the time zone to your local time, this will make sure your scheduled post will go according to your time zone.
4-Disable users registration
It’s always a good idea to keep your registration open if you are creating a WordPress site like HELPROBO any other Websites which allow guest posting, but spam registration will be a
pain. But, if you are sole writer and don’t need people to register, I recommend you to disable the WordPress registration Disable it under Settings > General.

This is another section that you should setup just after installing WordPress. Just follow the
Seo and put the checkmark in front of the field as seo friendly .
6-WordPress Ping list:

WordPress is a full fledge software, and there are a couple of technical how to involve when you start using WordPress. Installing WordPress plugins is one of such thing that every self-hosted .
here you will read 4 different ways to install WordPress plugin .
WordPress blogger should know. WP Plugin Installation can be done in two ways, but here we will talk about most common and easy way and will talk about FTP way in brief. Technically,
WordPress offers two ways to install
WordPress plugins on your blog:
Search and install
Upload and install
1-FTP
In FTP method, you upload the plugin using a FTP software such as FileZilla or Cyberduck, and
activate and configure it. Whereas, in dashboard method, you search, find, install and activate the
plugin.
2-Search and Install Plugin from WordPress Dashboard:
WordPress dashboard is one of the easiest ways to search, find and install WordPress plugin. If you know the name of the plugin, you can directly search from the dashboard and install it.
Login to your blog dashboard and click on Plugins >Add new. You will see a screen like this and for
example sake, we will install WP optimize plugin. So, in this case, I searched for plugin WP optimize, and I got following results:
If you are searching about any new plugin, you can click on Details to see more information about that plugin. Make sure to see the compatibility score with your version of the plugin. If you know about the plugin, simply click on Install and activate the plugin as shown in next image.
If the plugin that you are searching for is already installed on your blog, you will get a result showing
already installed in front of the plugin.
So now next step is to go to the setting panel of that plugin and make all necessary changes. As
a blogger most of the time we make a mistake by installing plugins, but we miss out on properly
configuring the plugin, which makes it useful.

4-FTP method to Install WordPress Plugin:
This is another method that is very useful when you couldn’t install WP plugin using WordPress

Hello friends welcome To HELPROBO
When I started blogging, stats of the blog was only for knowing how many visitors I’m getting,
and with time I realize stats of my blog is the key to blog growth. It doesn’t matter if you have a blog with 100 views a day or a blog with 100 millions views a day, you need to have a statsprogram which help you to track blog traffic and analyse them.
In my earlier post I have shared
about 3 stats program for WordPress blog, and Google analytics is one of the free stats program that is must have for any blog.
I would not get into details of benefits of Google analytics, as I have already covered it here. In this tutorial, you be learning about setting up your Google analytics account and adding Google analytics into your WordPress blog.
I have simplified this guide to non-technical users too, so you don’t have to worry about tech-how of Google analytics & WordPress integration.
How to Setup Google Analytics Account
Lets start the guide with setting up Google analytics account for your WordPress blog. You can repeat the same process for any website too. If you are doing this for your first website, you need to go to Google analytics page and login using your Google account or create an account which is free.
For the first time setup, you will be asked to add your website details and your personal
details to get started. If you are someone who already have an account,
click on admin tab at the
top > select account and click on add new property.
On the next page you need to add your website details to get the tracking code.
Click on Get tracking ID and you will be moved to the page with tracking ID for your website.
So far you have successfully setup your Google analytics account and created the tracking ID for your website.
Now the most interesting part of this tutorial begins;
as you need to integrate
Google analytics tracking ID into your WordPress blog. Let’s have a look at it into next section.
3 ways to add Google Analytics to WordPress
There are multiple ways to add Google analytics (GA) into your blog, and depending upon your level of blogging you should pick one of the below mentioned methods.
I’m putting down the different methods based on my recommended methods
Option 1) Google tag manager:
I started using Google analytics in 2014 and it become my only tag manager for all my sites. It’s free and using it you can manage all the tags for your blog from one place.
I recommend GTM to every professional and serious blogger. It hardly takes 5 minutes to setup and once you are done,.
Option 2) Using your WordPress theme:
Many of you might not beware of the fact that most of the WordPress theme have an option to add header and footer script. You can use this to add GA tacking code into your blog. Simply copy the tracking code which you obtained in the step1, and go to theme setting option,
look for option to add footer script and paste the code. It will work seamlessly and more over you don’t have to rely on another plugin for simple task. The above screenshot is from popular Genesis
theme framework.
Option 3: Using Google Analytics for WordPress pluginThere are many plugins which are available in WordPress Plugin repo to add Google analytics to
your WordPress blog, but Google Analytics plugin by Yoast is the best. All you need to do is to install GA for WordPress plugin from official repo (plugin link) and configure it, which I have explained below.
Once you have activated the plugin, you will see a popup asking to allow or
disallow tracking, which I prefer to select “Do not allow tracking”.
Go to settings > Google analytics to configure the plugin and click on click here to authenticate
with Google or you can also select manually enter the UA code.
Click on save setting.
Now it's done and have fun with your blog and if you 're feeling any problem let me know by commenting and share this article in social media with your friends and don't forget to subscribe us.
Hello friends welcome To helprobo as a newbie blogger you always want to improve your WordPress Blog performance so
There are two important components of a typical WordPress installation:
1-WordPress files stored on your server
2-WordPress database
It’s very essential for you to timely cleanup WordPress database and reduce the size. This is a must-have process for every WordPress user to keep the size of their database at minimum and
keep their WordPress blog fast. Over the time your WordPress database have many redundant table, unused records and many entries which you can remove without affecting your website.
This will help you a lot to reduce load on your server and your WordPress performance will
improve. In this tutorial I will take example of helprobo WordPress database which is of size 286.3 MB before cleaning up, and will share exact steps I took to drastically reduce the size of my blog database. You can follow this guide step by step and work on your blog.
Only few of the points might require technical know-how, and if you find yourself questioning there; feel free to ask
question or skip that step. So, let’s get on with this simple DIY tutorial.
Tutorial: How to Reduce WordPress Database Size
I’m mentioning steps in the series I followed to reduce the database size, and I suggest you to follow the exact methods.
Step 1: Take WordPress database backup
This is most essential step which you need to take before you work on your blog database. In my case I have used my hosting company backup feature (WPEngine backup feature) to take
complete backup of the database and all files. You can use WP-db manager plugin to take
backup of your database file. You can find tutorial over here to learn taking WordPress backup.
My recommendation here is WP-db manager plugin as we will be needing to run few SQL query, empty and drop database tables with this one useful plugin.
Step: 2 Disabled and delete unused WordPress plugin:
Now go through theactive plugin list of your WordPress blog and first disable those plugins which you are not using anymore.
There might be plugins that you use once in a while, So I suggest you can disable them too and install when you need it again.
Our goal for today is to completely optimise the database size. Only disabling will not be of much help here, so make you
also delete those unused plugins.
The reason being is to clean out the database table that are created using those unused plugins. Need some useful plugins?
Basic WordPress plugins for every blog
Must have SEO WordPress plugins
Must have SEO WordPress plugins
List of plugins that I use here at ShoutMeLoud
Step : 3Delete all spam comments, trash posts and post revisions:
What ever comments you have in spam folder and trash folder, empty them. Similarly delete all posts from trash folder and delete post revisions. You can use WP-optimize plugin to get this done with one click.
Step : 4 Find and clean orphan table:
Now follow this tutorial and install and use Clean options WordPress plugin to find orphan and unused tables in your database. Using this plugin you can clean all such tables.
This is quite critical step and use it when you are sure of the table names which you are not using. If you are in confusion, I would recommend skip this step.
Note: Deactivate and uninstall the plugin after using it
Step: 5 Remove unused Meta value from Database (Caution: For tech people only)
This is one step which I use once in a year and suggest you to do it only if you are accustomed with PhpmyAdmin. If you have earlier worked on PHPmyadmin, you can simply follow this easy
tutorial and get rid of all unused meta value from database.
This won’t be decreasing down your database size significantly but again this is useful if you are highly determined to clean up your
WordPress database.
Step : 6 MySql Queries to reduce database size
One of the table which is a major cause of increased database size is wp_commentmeta due to Akismet plugin. Before running below mentioned query, my commentmeta size was 146 MB and after that I reduce its size.
so how was the article If this article is touching your heart so I think you should must share this on social meadia and if you're feeling any problem let me know by commenting and subscribe us for a newsletter.
Hello friends welcome To helprobo If you are feeling any problem of security of your WordPress Blog so don't go anywhere here you will read.
How to secure WordPress Blog?
Tip to secure WordPress Blog?
In recent time, WordPress has been highly targeted by bloggers. Since WordPress uses MySQL and Php, it’s not tough to find a vulnerability in WordPress.
Here I’m sharing some newbie tips to Secure WordPress blog. These are basic tips but sometimes missing these basic tips, may lead
to losing your WordPress blog by some hacker.
WordPress powers 25% of the website in the world & is most popular CMS apart from a blogging software.
I can quite confidently say that, being a user of this awesome CMS for the past 6 years.
I simply love the fact that I could choose from tens and thousands of plugins from the
WordPress plugin database. The plugin database has never failed me if you need to add a new feature to my blog,
someone has already made a neat plugin for that and shared it for everyone
to use. There are endless options when it comes to themes, as well, right from the Genesis theme
to Thrive themes.
That was the good part but whenever there is good, there is also evil too.
My site has been hacked nearly 6 times in the past by some Arabian and some Turkish hackers (atleast that’s what
they claim from). They leave your site with an ugly black background with GIF images of skulls and Ravens.
Most of these hack attacks are done by what is called as an SQL injection.
Nowadays it has become a necessity to do all the preliminary safeguarding measures to keep these hackers at bay.
Proven tips to Secure any WordPress Blog:
1. Configure the backup:
Well, I have given a lot of proven tips below to secure your WordPress blog, but no matter what you need to ensure if something goes wrong you can restore your blog. Not having a proper WordPress backup solution in place is the biggest mistake you can have. When a big site like Sony, Dropbox can be hacked, a WordPress blog is relatively easy to be cracked by a hacker.
So first thing first, ensures you are taking a daily backup of your blog. If you are earning money from your blog, I would suggest using VaultPress for the backup which cost only $5/month.
You might say that your hosting offers backup which is good only if they store the backup on the different server.
2. Use reliable & secure hosting company:
Your WordPress installation is just a software installed on a server. The foundation of a secure website is the server which has enough provision to stop hackers from getting inside your website.
A free web-hosting company is a big nay for you & something one should avoid. Ensure
your hosting company have placed proper rules & have the firewall to stop the server from attacking your website.
I understand that it’s hard to know which hosting company is reliable against hacker & that’s why I have created this quick list of hosting companies that offer great security on their server level.
B-Bluehost:
One of the top rated hosting which offers great security.
InMotion Hosting: Founded in 2001 & since then they are known for great hardware quality &
security infrastructure. They also migrate your existing site for free.
A-WPEngine:
A managed WordPress hosting
company which is recommended for business
WordPress sites with low or medium traffic. They offer backup, security at multiple levels.
3. Update WordPress
Keeping your WordPress up to date is the first and basic security tip for any WordPress blogger.
This is something that you never want to miss, whenever WordPress is sending an update, it means that they have fixed some bugs, added some features and most importantly added some security features and fixes.
You never want to miss out on this.
When you see the message WordPress x.x.x is available! Please Update.
Especially, with one click update, it’s easier to upgrade your blog. Make sure, your theme andplugins are compatible with the latest version of WordPress.
If an update has been rolled out and
it’s not a security update, I suggest you to wait for 5-6 days, before other users stop reporting
any bug in the latest version of WordPress.

How to secure your WordPress Blog?
Top security tips to secure your WordPress Blog?
When I was 17, I hacked our university’s web-portal to get the semester final questions draft by entering into teachers area.
I needed the questions of ‘network security’ course, so I attempted to
login as rohit (the respective teacher) and I succeeded in a few attempts to get his password as it was his girlfriend’s name without any space. 😃
Reading my story of hacking, as a webmaster, you might be strained about your website security.
For any website, a security strategy is a must. And as wordpress is the most popular open source software for blogging, it is a primary target of many malicious attacks.
Luckily, by the strength of being open source software, wordpress has many protective plugins,
functions and techniques to save you.
When used in an aggregate, these tools can defend you from vicious activity, hacks, spam and other threats. Let us have a look to few of these
techniques today.
Useful WordPress Security tips:
1-Always upgrade:
Always upgrade your wordpress version, theme and plugin to the latest version. The upgrade may fix any security bug from the previous version, so it is wise to be upgraded.
Hide your wordpress version number:
For some reason, if you cannot upgrade to the latest wordpress version, do not let hackers know your current version.
As the bugs of previous releases are known to all through wordpress.org, it will easier for them to attack your website. You can hide your wordpress version number by
following below instructions:
If you are using an older theme, remove the following line from your theme’s header.php filephp
bloginfo('version'); ?>" />
If you are using a newer theme, just add the following in your theme’s functions.php file
bloginfo('version'); ?>" />
If you are using a newer theme, just add the following in your theme’s functions.php file
Be careful about plugins: Be careful about installing plugins. Weak plugins may have buggy codes through which some
other codes or sql queries can be injected or some other harmful activities can be done to
damage your site or its ranking.
Check plugin’s ratings and popularity before installing it. And to be sure, read reviews or ask your blogger friends about the plugin you are going to use.
While upgrading plugins to latest version, make sure you upgrade wordpress plugin in correct
way.
2-Secure administrator account:
Prior to wordpress version 3.0, the default wordpress installation used to come with an
administration account ‘admin’ as username. As the hackers know it, they will always try this.
Make sure, your administrator account username is not something easily guessable like ‘admin’, ‘yoursitename’ or ‘yourname’. If you already did so or you had installed a wordpress version older than 3.0, you need to change it.
3-Disable directory browsing:
Enabling directory browsing in your site is comparable to keeping your door always open, so that the thief can see your wealth inside house and can do a plan to steal. 😃
I hope you understand the importance of keeping your door closed A simple trick to disable directory browsing is to upload a blank index.html or index.php file in each directory and sub directory except the root.
Also make sure this WordPress hack to find the plugin used in your website does not apply to your website.
Monitor any hacking attempts using wassup:
Wassup is a wordpress plugin that records details data of each user.
Using this plugin you can monitor any malicious activities like code/sql injections.
4-Use reliable & secure hosting company:
Your WordPress installation is just a software installed on a server. The foundation of a secure website is the server which has enough provision to stop hackers from getting inside your website.
